Business Startup Weekends and pre-accelerator programs designed to enable migrants aged 18 years and over to develop and validate their business ideas.

Program was funded by LaunchVic.

DURATION

Two years (2018 - 2019)

STRUCTURE

20 workshops, plus 4 cohorts of 3-month pre-accelerator program and 120 coaching sessions 

TRACTION

About 300 participants

IYE Program

6-month business development program that equips young entrepreneurs (15-30 years) with the tools and knowledge they need to validate their business ideas. Program is sponsored by iGen's Business Builder Community.

DURATION

Started in 2021 and ongoing

STRUCTURE

4 cohorts (2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024) of IYE has been completed. Each cohort has 6 monthly in-person workshops plus 5 rounds of 1:1 mentoring session with business leaders

TRACTION

74 participants

48 businesses launched

Keeping it in the Family (KIITF) Program

Sponsored by the City of Melbourne and delivered in partnership with Jesuit Social Services, KIITF Program empowered migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking families living in the City of Melbourne by equipping them with entrepreneurial skills. 

DURATION

Two years (May 2022 - June 2023)

STRUCTURE

4 cohorts (Spanish, English, Mandarin, and Arabic speakers in separate cohorts)

Each cohort, participated in workshops, a pre-accelerator program, coaching sessions, and networking opportunities. 

TRACTION

Over 50 migrant families
